Your files and privacy.
The way you use PDFresh determines where information goes. Visiting the website makes normal web requests. Opening a local document in a PDFresh tool does not upload that document to us.
Website visits and downloads.
The website and downloadable files are delivered through Amazon S3 and CloudFront. Hosting infrastructure processes technical request information needed to deliver the files and operate the service, such as the requested address, IP address, browser information, and request time. Infrastructure logging and retention depend on the hosting configuration.
Anonymous usage counts.
We use our own AWS service to count page views, visits to game pages, play-link selections, game loads, first interactions with game controls, download-link selections and saved-game downloads. The play without downloading links have a separate click count. Counts are grouped by day, published game and version, and a small set of traffic-source and campaign categories. Unknown source or campaign values become “other”; we do not send complete referring addresses, search terms or arbitrary URL parameters.
We do not use advertising scripts, tracking cookies, persistent visitor identifiers or browser storage for these counts. Each event has a random identifier used only to prevent that event being counted twice. It is scheduled for deletion after two days. Daily counts are scheduled for deletion after 400 days; AWS deletion can take additional time. The AWS service processes IP addresses and technical request information to deliver requests, but our counter does not store IP addresses, browser identifiers or request bodies. Operational function logs are retained for seven days.
We also count successful PDF loads in the viewer (separately for local files and official games), viewer save requests, and file selection, PDF loading, processing success or failure, copying and downloading in each document tool. These counts record actions only. Local PDF contents and game interactions inside selected local files are excluded. PDF contents, file names, entered names, scores and saved records are never included. Download counts record a click or the browser being offered a file; they do not prove a file was saved or played offline.
To use the site without these counts, continue with measurement off. This choice follows links within the site, but is not stored for a later visit. You can bookmark that address. We also respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track when provided by your browser. Counts may be incomplete when these controls or blockers are used.
Local document tools.
The local reader, X-Ray, merge, page extraction, and text extraction tools read selected files in browser memory. Their PDF libraries are served from PDFresh. The viewer reads interactive artwork, form fields and supported scripts directly from the selected PDF. Scripts run in a local isolated interpreter with memory and execution limits. The PDF program cannot access browser storage, the website or network APIs. Web links included in a PDF open only when selected. Saving records creates a PDF on your device. The tools do not send the selected PDF contents, local file names, extracted text, page images, or output files to a PDFresh server.
Closing or reloading the page clears the working state. Files you choose to download remain on your device until you remove them. Your browser, operating system, and browser extensions operate under their own settings and policies.
PDF games and records.
The original game files start as guest with empty records. Pulse Dash stores player names, personal bests and completed-run totals. Stop the Bar stores the last entered name, run totals and registered top-ten scores. Turn & Connect stores board rotations and cleared-stage marks. These records stay in the PDF when you save it with changes using a compatible reader. PDFresh does not receive them or run an online leaderboard.
The games make no automatic network requests. Selecting a website link inside a PDF opens the linked page and makes normal web requests. Sharing a copy saved with changes can disclose the player names and scores stored in that file.
Email.
If you email contact@pdfresh.com, the message, email address, and any attachments are sent through your email provider and ours. We use the information to address your request. Avoid sending sensitive documents or passwords. You can use the same address to ask about a message you previously sent or request its deletion.
